I walked into the gym, nervous and excited. I told myself to breath in and breath out. I saw a familiar face, the guy who had signed me up. I waved and said "Hi Kevin," like we had been friends forever. I needed to feel safe, and secure. He pointed a guy sitting at the counter and said, "well this is your trainer, Mac." Then he did this evil kind of laugh as he saw my jaw drop to the floor. Mac is a six foot four bald headed black man with tattooed arms the size of watermelons. He shook my hand and dismissed himself to get some paperwork.
I sat down, because the room was spinning, and I actually prayed this prayer. "I'm sure you think this is very funny, but I certainly don't. Couldn't you have given me a slightly less intimidating trainer? Thanks God!"
Shortly after I was thanking Him for real, because my trainer rocks! I mean, he's hardcore, but he's exactly what I needed. He told me that if I wasn't serious about this I could just walk out the door, because he doesn't waste time with people who aren't serious! I knew then, that he was the answer to my prayers. 24 hours later and 3...yes count them 1....2...3..workouts I'm feeling a little sore, but overall really proud of myself. He's making me focus on me, and that's a good thing. I don't know if I'll be saying that in another week, but for now, I'm staying positive. I did two and half hours in the gym today! Who am I??
